It’s hard to believe it’s already been three years since the last IDEA Show.
April 12, 2010

It was at the 2007 edition of North America’s largest nonwovens exhibition where NONWOVENS INDUSTRY launched our Breaking New from IDEA electronic newsletter. At the close of the exhibition each day, we posted the event’s most exciting news items and mailed them out electronically to our entire subscription list as well as to everyone who was registered at IDEA. This service was met with great success from readers who were unable to explore the halls of IDEA because they were too busy at their own booths as well as from nonwovens professionals who were not able to make the trip to Miami Beach. In fact, it was so successful that we have since repeated it at a number of industry conferences and trade shows including INDEX08 and ANEX09. And, this year at IDEA we are expanding our breaking news coverage at IDEA to include live video broadcasts straight from the Miami Beach Convention Center. IDEA TV, as we are calling it, will feature a number of industry experts sharing their views on the nonwovens industry, as well as company news and supplier information. Not only will this information be streamed live over the internet—from our website nitesh_non.rodpub.com—it will also be broadcast on large video screens on the show floor of IDEA. If you’re at IDEA, you won’t be able to miss it; if you can’t make the show, IDEA TV will make you feel like you’re there. Incorporating video into our show coverage is something that we probably wouldn’t even have considered three years ago at IDEA. The technology just wasn’t in place. But, with today’s electronic and software options, the possibilities are now endless, and IDEA TV is just one of the many ways new technology is allowing NONWOVENS INDUSTRY to expand its coverage. In addition to IDEA TV, NONWOVENS INDUSTRY will again provide written news briefs detailing the most exciting news announced at IDEA 2010, but before you go, make sure to check out this month’s issue, which features all the information you need to make sure you get the most from your trip to Miami Beach. On page 32 begins a list of exhibitors and booth numbers to help you narrow down which companies you want to visit at the show. This is followed on page 44 by a more complete exhibitor listing with addresses, phone and fax numbers and email addresses. This is followed by previews of what some exhibitors plan to represent at IDEA 2010 (page 44), a continuation of a feature we published in March. We hope that all of this information provides you with a comprehensive preview of IDEA 2010, whether you plan to attend the show or not. And, if you aren’t attending, don’t worry. The editorial staff of NONWOVENS INDUSTRY will be there. Not only will IDEA TV and Breaking News from IDEA provide real-time coverage of the show, we will also run a comprehensive show report in our June 2010 issue. See you in Miami. Karen McIntyre Editor
